and I did it again

Weekend was good. The hubby ordered some Japanese food for our dinner as I'm lazy to cook! We had sushi and Japanese pizza which was really yummy with lots of mayo! I hate to think what to prepare for lunch and dinner. And with a 'anything' hubby, I often ended up preparing the same old dishes lol :P Fortunately the hubby is not fussy over food so I guess I'm lucky. :D

I did some sewing when big, little missy were having their afternoon nap. Some stuffs I made - another shirred tube top for big missy & a new quilt which I thought of hanging it on the wall as a fabric display panel.

Gotta love these fabric from Ikea - colors all inspired by
Yoshiko's simple quilt. I love simple modern contemporary quilt, not a fan of traditional quilt though. This book is definitely a good read if you like simple quilt. A lot of inspirations and good tips - tips on how to select, cut out prints from your favorite fabric and a lot more.

And oh, this is some exciting news! My new friend, R was featured over at decor8 just a few days ago! And best of all, it featured about our swap, how cool is that? She was just about to email me when I alerted her about it. She is a very nice friend to have! I love the blogging world where people are inspiring one another and sharing about their stuff and all the good findings!

I love fabrics as much as I love patterned papers and so I used some fabrics on my layouts! Absolutely love the effect and how the fabric prints are looking on the page with more dimensions and textures. Especially the contrasting colors of the 'Chestnut branches' on the bookprint paper. This was my August DT assignment for MFM - a step by step instruction on how I go about creating my page to achieve that organized cluttering layering look.

timeless treasure

I have this thing for pearls, I like it that they look timeless, classy and elegant. Well, I think I'm addicted to anything handmade and it is indeed therapeutic to make stuff! Here are some simple earrings which I did early this year (I actually forgotten all about it! :p) and I thought I will share them here. I love these lamp beads with a touch of vintage-y look. Sometimes I wish I have more than 24 hours a day to finish up my super long list of projects!

cherry arte august gallery

It's mid month again! Since the gallery is up at MFM, I shall post all my layouts done for August. Coincidently, both MFM and OPAAT featured the new Cherry Arte papers for their August kits. I've never create so many layouts from one paper line, fun yet challenging! I received the Sep kit from C on Monday night & I didn't know shipping can be THAT fast! Did I mention that the Sep kit for MFM is looking all gorgeous with awesome mix of products?! I love the colors and mixes, all new CHA releases! You'll be seeing a total different look, not the usual MFM style iygwim. Think cosy or rather look over here.

Just two weeks ago, I requested bp to forward me the pictures of her two boys. I love pictures of her two precious. Pictures with movement that are so full of life! And hey, doing layouts for little boys are just as fun as doing layouts for little girls. I think I will do more of those. Back to more scrapping, crafty stuffs tonight. Till later...

Did I hear use ALL the embellishment? Haa! I *knew* I will go wild doing this layout, loaded with embellishment goodness. I like movement picture like this and it was taken in the field in front of the National Museum.

Although I have yet to receive the magazine, I still get to view the published article. Jami, one of my fellow DT mate at MFM helped to scan those pages for me. Thanks again J. I particularly missed 'Orange Is Nice', 'Beautiful In Your Way' and 'Looking In The Eyes Of Love' because I parted with them for coming to a year. Now, all 7 layouts are back sitting in my little cosy album.

I'll now leave you with this 4 pager article titled 'Singular Sensation'. The idea is to use a single color background to create a dramatic backdrop for your scrapbook pages. I did a write up of the material lists and simple instructions on going about doing my layouts. What you're seeing here are mostly my earlier artwork. Happy reading. :)

誕生日おめでとう

Cher 及びミイラへの誕生日おめでとう = Happy Birthday To Cher and Mummy.

Thanks for all the publication love! Today, we celebrated Cher's birthday in advance (in 2 days time) and it happened to be my actual birthday too. So, the hubby suggested to celebrate both of our birthdays together. Although I think it's kind of weird to celebrate mine as well and to state 'happy birthday to Cher and mummy' on the Dora cake (too old for that) :p It was just a small celebration with our immediate family members and a few friends. Nice home cooked food, cute cake, pressies, fun + noisy kids plus lots of catching up. I should be sharing the article, more photos and layouts later (probably tonight if I'm not too tired!). Till later...

eta: I just read Rashida's blog and I went WOW! I think this is going to be one of the BEST birthday present I am getting! Just look at all the goodness she is sending me - my favorite magazines, stuffs from my favorite stores - Papersource, Kate's Paperie. I'm madly in love with that cute mini suitcase!!! Rashida and myself decided to do a little swap before the arrival of baby Elijah. And I'm sooo excited that we're almost ready to mail our package! We just have to keep adding stuffs to our boxes I tell ya lol. Thanks Rashida! You're just the sweetest friend & swapping partner! I will be taking some sneakie of the stuffs I'm sending out to you too. Stay tune! ;)
