the finale...

My Favorite Memories is closing down. A huge and difficult decision for Shari but I can totally understand her position. It is indeed a challenge to juggle working and being a wife and mom at home. I wish her all the best and happy that she can spend more time with her family. It's kindof a bittersweet feeling for me as I've met many wonderful people over at the message board. It's hard but let's keep in touch.

Final layouts for the MFM gallery.

just love the cool looking KI lace cardstock

Lots of things I wanna do and get for the coming X'mas. Some of those on my wish list right now: a happy life, a holiday trip to Japan (shopping for more fabric and crafty stuff!), good health for the family, etc... Bits & pieces on this page by tearing, cutting, adding small embellishments together with the black and white border stickers and love elsie noel stickers which are my current faves.

handmade gifts

I started on my handmade christmas projects last week for our friends and baby sitter's family. I probably love my sewing machine so much that I couldn't stop sewing. :) I've sewn a lot of small bags - mostly zipper & drawstring pouches. I have a couple more to finish before I post them here once and for all.

Hand embroidered little bird and tree.
Design taken from a Japanese craft book. Yum so love the greeny tree
Lined with green polka dots

Joel Dewberry

For our baby sitter - she loves drawstring pouches. She's the most capable homemaker I've ever known. Modern, pretty and young looking 40-ish lady. Friends who met her will agree with me. We are so lucky to have her.

Mine's on page 49 - everyday life

Thanks to Memory Makers for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this great idea book. Beautiful pages with different styles, ideas and techniques used. I strongly recommend the 601 Great Scrapbook Ideas book if you are looking out for fantastic scrapbook inspiration. Just pure eye candy.
Some pages created for One Page At A Time kit club. My 6-month DT term is ending Dec this year.

I heart this photo of big missy - she was singing baa baa black sheep in the park. I was of a title for this page and this black cardstock (KI Memories) with the word 'black' on it - life saver! lol. That's how the title came about. :D

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy thanksgiving to all!

So thankful for these:
1. A
humourous, patient and supportive hubby.
2. Our 2 precious big and little missy.
3. My mother-in-law who is always so kind and understanding. We all love her home-cooked food.
4. Our baby sitter - a SUPER nanny. I don't know how she manage, she is taking care of four kids during the daytime. I never have to worry about leaving my girls under her care while I'm at work.
5. Keeping in touch with all my closest girlfriends from elementary school.
6. Being able to sustain my scrapbooking hobby till now and still loving it. No more 3-min fever thingy. :D
7. Taking up sewing and getting to know more talented and inspiring people.

Speaking of which, I have to mention a few of my favorite blogger friends - my daily reads. And, thanks for mentioning me in your posts too.

I heart linen - Rashida, my bestest blogger friend ever! So much to say about this girl. So talented! Though we are living in the opposite ends of the world but we make an effort to keep in touch via emails & yim. We feel like we have known each other for years! We can talk about our kids, families, work, craft ideas, passion, dreams & jokes. Just about anything under the sun!

Sri Sams - my online scrapbooking buddy! We're always up to something in the cyber world LOL.

BP - She is a great SAHM to her two boys. A role model. Vern is a really lucky man. :D

Quilt Otaku - New found blogger friend. Her quilting projects are amazing!

Melissa Deakin - I love her clean, classy scrapbooking style & her photography too. Have to try out that soft tree pattern very soon!

Lisa & Dena- These ladies make gorgeous bags, love them all!

Dallas - My fall swap partner and thanks for being so patient. I hope you get to see your package the moment you return from your trip.

In this package, I have included:
1. A grey, yellow & cream linen library tote made by me. I will post the rest of the pictures later

2. Ornament for the house - an owl on a little wooden tree
3. A small cylindrical box (love the tree design on the cover!)
4. Incense for aromatherapy
5. Pearls for making the
bubble tea. Yum, my swap partner likes the bubble tea too! I've tried the Singapore, Korea and Taiwan version of bubble tea and seriously they tasted very much the same but I prefer Taiwan version better (I have a sweet tooth you see)
6. Japanese Miso soup to warm up the day.
7. Happy snacking - Pretz biscuit sticks.

Fall Swap

I joined the fall swap in October – my first public swap. The one I did earlier with Rashida was a private swap and all went great too! I think I'm addicted to swap - receiving and putting up goodies is such fun! Anyway, the fall swap was about sending at least 3 items to your assigned partner and one of it must be handmade. I’m posting a sneakie for Dallas's package. I had lots of fun choosing these and loved the little trees and leaves. I chose one of my favorite color combi – brown and green!

I received my fall swap package just yesterday. In this swap, D sent me the following:
*A handmade tote.
*A handmade Dora bag for big missy!
* Bag of snacks.
* Scrapbooking pads –one of it with the Amy Butler design and the other with traditional fall colors.
*Aromatic drink coaster and some mulling spices – I really love this!

So nice to have Dallas as my swap partner, so thoughful of her to make a Dora tote for big missy!

season greetings

December is going to be a very busy month for all crafter and scrapbooker. We are all busy making gifts for the coming X'mas. Well, so many ideas, so little time.

We are off to a 3 year old princess's party later, more fun play for the kiddos and catching up with girlfriends.

And here are the layouts for My Favorite Memories - the X'mas kit with lots of green & red.

The kit

The Glitz Bazzill Bling paper is really nice. I have to tear the bottom edge of the bazzill paper as big missy cut it using a pair of scissors!

back for more

PC is up and running and it feels good to be back blogging. Here are some of the pictures from the party. The kids loved the goodie bags, the mini stamps set especially. For Xin and those who are interested, I got the mini stamps set from JL.

The birthday cake -
Love the little animal figurines on the cake. Cake from here and customized it to the shape of #1, vanilla + mango flavor. For big missy's 1st birthday, we got her cake from Li-Sher. She is a home baker and her cakes are of premium ingredients and painstakingly hand-sculpts edible decorations! A must try if you like thick, rich chocolate!

We didn't get to take many pictures of little missy as she was napping most of the time :D

At this stage whereby stuff she got hold of goes right into her mouth, with saliva and all the drooling haha

J and her family arrived a lot earlier before the rest. And so the two mummies had a great time taking pictures of their elder ones.

Children in the playroom
eta: I'm thinking to redo and repaint the kids' room. Inspiration kicks in & just have to do it soon. Some warm colors this time round to make the room a little more cosy.
Big missy in her dreamy mood + new hairstyle. We might be cutting her hair even shorter before she goes Nursery next year!

The present #1 - rocking giraffe
The present #2 - wooden toy train
Big missy is trucking those little animal figurines from the cake.

The present #3
One of my favorite label from Hong Kong - KINGKOW! A little
swimsuit for little missy (showing the little tummy) from Jas. Love this so much!

Dainty looking baby A

Chubby + bubbly baby J!
